Why does everyone speed here?

Just the title. I moved here a few months back and as I’ve travelled around (back and forth to the airport, picking up random things from marketplace, etc.) I noticed that it’s extremely common for pretty much everyone to go 10-15 over posted speed limits especially on major roadways. I’m definitely used to seeing the occasional speeder in other cities, and there’s always that one guy on the road with a death wish. BUT I’ve never seen just everyone going over the speed limit all the time. Anyone else noticed this? Am I crazy?
