Advice on career path

So i’m currently active duty army at fort hood, I plan on doing career skills program (CSP) offered here by the A rmy and Mastec. Once completed I want to move back up to the northeast ohio/northwest pennsylvania area and gain an apprenticeship through FirstEnergy.

Reason for moving back up to the OH/PA area is because that’s where both my wife and I are from. What’re the pros and cons of working up north versus in the south? Has anybody been with FirstEnergy in the past? Would you recommend other companies or utilities?
Any career path advice or person experiences would be appreciated.
