Need help with a bug. Game hangs after hitting a first strike.

Sadly nobody on steam helped me so I hope someone can help. I’ve reached the sirene area and now each time I initiate a fight the game hangs. The screen goes diagonal like the battle is about to start, battle music plays but I stay on the diagonal screen. Tried reinstalling the game and deleted mods. If anyone else has experienced this and can help that’d be great.
