My girlfriend is a teacher in a school. She has been experiencing harassment and abuse from the boys in two of her classes.
She came home with bruises on Wednesday and called off sick with stress.
The harassment is grounded in a mixture of misogyny and homophobia. It beganwhen some boys from her year found my Facebook profile with our holiday pics on it. (My fault partly as I didn't realise one of my holiday albums wasn't locked down to private)
Pics of us sunbathing together in bikinis got shared. Then they got AI'd into videos of us taking our bikini tops off.
There was a crackdown and 3 stduents were suspended.
However there is a group of boys in her year who have directed sexist and homkphobic abuse at her. Calling her awful names, telling her she needs a c**k to cure her or set her right.
Police were called on Wednesday but we havent spoken to any officers yet. Nobody has come out except a senior member of the school to apologise in person and check on her wellbeing.
What do we do now? Is it normal to be waiting for police to investigate?
Is there anythinf I can do right now to support her from a legal standpoint? Hire a solicitor? Call police again?
She is barely capable of getting out of bed right now. Anxirty and depression and super bad after the assault.
