Maddie’s not the best.

I’m scared to make this post cause this sub and even the mods are very Ziegler biased…so I’ll word this carefully. Maddie wasn’t the best, she was made to be previewed that way. Now Maddie is very talented. She has an amazing stage presence and performance quality. And I truly believe that Maddie would have been something regardless of the show because she has a natural gift to perform. BUT the Maddie is the best trope is so untrue, and it was at the expense of everyone else. Maddie was given extra time. That was said to be true by most of the moms and it was confirmed by Abby. She was taken out of school to work on her solo early so she could be fully prepared by competition. And.. how is that fair?

How could anyone say that the other kids were stupid or not as good when Maddie had more time than they did to work on her solo? Think about it. They say Maddie’s better than Chloe because she won, with extra time and better choreography. But Chloe has beaten Maddie or has come extremely close with less resources and time. Common sense would say that Chloe’s better. Kalani and Brynn are CLEARLY more technical than Maddie and the world knows that both of them could have beaten Maddie with choreography suited to their strengths. So my point is if Maddie was the best, why did her wins come from the sabotage of the other dancers. Why do they have to be made to look worse for her to look better?

And the show at some rare points worked in her favor. Whenever people say that they can only watch Maddie in a dance, it’s cause that’s who the camera is directed to point to. Watch some group dances and you’ll see that the camera almost always pans to her, training your eye to watch her. And Abby would choreograph the group dance with Maddie always in front, even if theres a different lead she’s always front and center. But like I said Maddie is a great dancer and I believe that without Abby’s help we would have looked at her. But Abby pushed her so hard and made it so that Maddie would place higher than the other solos just to say she’s the best. You can’t really say she’s the best on paper if her wins were borderline orchestrated. She was orchestrated to be the best not because she was, but because they wanted her to be.
