For a brief context I’m a junior at a state university with no prior internships, no irl connections, and was really behind on applying. I did applications in October-December but they all flopped since that was probably the worst time to apply or my resume sucked so then I stopped any career stuff for a few months. Then I got motivation, fixed up my resume, and spammed applications late March and these are my results.

The offer I got is for a SWE role, not sure what team I’ll be on yet but will either be working on something with LLMs/data analysis, or frontend work with one of their web app modules. The pay is ok and it’s not FAANG or a huge company, but I’m really just happy to get experience, and I feel like I really clutched up. But I’m also not naive enough to believe that luck wasn’t a significant factor because although they asked me a lot of dsa stuff, the managers/engineers interviewing me were super nice and it felt more like a friendly conversation about my projects rather than them trying to grill me technically.

Overall though I’m super happy to see results, and it definitely gives me more motivation for the future. For me I’ve felt like I’ve always been behind in my life compared to my peers so it feels like a good notice that it’s never too late to keep pushing

It’s never over, started applying late March and secured summer 2026 internship last minute
