The old mansion doors slowly creak open once again…

Tonight…

The air smells faintly of seawater.

The halls are quieter than usual.

As we walk deeper into Michelle’s Spooky Mansion, we notice dim blue lights flickering along the walls like reflections beneath ocean waves.

At the end of the corridor—

Michelle stands beside an elegant bronze mermaid statue.

One hand gently brushes against its cold surface.

The statue almost looks alive beneath the candlelight.

Michelle turns toward us and smiles warmly.

“Oh… welcome back.”

She looks back at the statue.

“Beautiful, isn’t she?”

Her fingers lightly trace the statue’s tail.

“You know… people have always been fascinated by the ocean.”

“Especially the things hidden beneath it.”

She slowly walks around the statue.

“Some creatures are mysterious…”

“Some are beautiful…”

“And some…”

Her smile fades slightly.

“…are dangerous.”

Thunder softly rumbles outside the mansion windows.

Michelle continues quietly:

“Stories about mermaids and sirens have existed for centuries.”

“Sailors claimed they heard songs drifting through the fog…”

“Voices so beautiful…”

“…people willingly walked into death.”

She suddenly chuckles softly.

“Personally?”

“I think if something in the ocean starts singing to me…”

“I’m staying very far away.”

She laughs.

Then lowers her voice.

“But tonight’s story…”

“…is about a family vacation that became something much darker.”

The candle flames flicker blue.

“And about a song…”

“…that nearly drowned an entire resort.”

The Story Begins

The Mermaid Resort

Golden sunlight shined across the tropical beach.

Palm trees swayed gently.

Children laughed near the shoreline.

At the luxurious Mermaid Cove Resort—

Julie Miller ran excitedly between rows of mermaid statues.

“Mom! Dad! Look at this one!”

Her parents, Noah and Hannah Miller, smiled warmly.

Hannah laughed.

“You really love mermaids, huh?”

Julie grinned.

“They’re beautiful!”

Noah stretched comfortably.

“Well, this vacation was definitely worth it.”

Julie suddenly spotted beach volleyball nearby.

“I’m going to the beach!”

Before Noah could answer, she had already sprinted away laughing.

Hannah shook her head fondly.

“She’s going to wear herself out.”

Then—

A man approached them politely.

“Mr. and Mrs. Miller?”

The couple turned.

A tall man in elegant resort clothing smiled confidently.

“I’m Sebastian Fischer, owner of the resort.”

Beside him stood a graceful woman with long dark hair.

“And this is my assistant, Mia Hoffman.”

Mia smiled politely.

“We hope your family enjoys your stay.”

The Singing Voice

Later that afternoon—

The Miller family sat together for lunch near the seaside restaurant.

Waves calmly rolled in the distance.

Then Julie paused.

“…Do you hear that?”

Noah looked up.

“Hear what?”

“A woman singing.”

Hannah frowned slightly.

For a moment…

She heard it too.

A distant…

Melodic voice.

Beautiful.

Sad.

Almost hypnotic.

But when Noah looked around—

There was no singer.

No speakers.

No music.

Julie whispered nervously:

“…It sounds close.”

Just then—

Sebastian and Mia approached again.

Julie quickly asked:

“Do you know who’s singing?”

Sebastian’s smile slowly faded.

“…Perhaps you heard the curse.”

Noah laughed awkwardly.

“The curse?”

Sebastian nodded seriously.

“Legend says mermaids once lived on this ancient beach.”

“They were creatures of evil.”

“Anyone who heard their songs would lose their mind…”

“…and walk into the sea.”

Julie’s face paled.

Sebastian continued quietly:

“And those cursed…”

“…would lose their legs forever.”

Hannah exchanged doubtful looks with Noah.

“That sounds a little dramatic,” Noah said carefully.

But Mia gently knelt beside Julie.

“You should avoid the hill above the resort.”

“Especially after sunset.”

“Or the Mermaid Queen may notice you.”

Julie swallowed nervously.

As they walked away—

Julie glanced at the nearby statues.

Then suddenly—

A whisper near her ear.

“Help me…”

Julie froze.

No one was there.

Something Hidden

That evening—

Julie sat inside the resort hallway talking to her friends on the phone.

Then—

She noticed Sebastian and Mia speaking secretly nearby.

Curious, she quietly peeked around the corner.

Sebastian unlocked a secured box.

Inside it—

A small wooden chest.

He carefully opened it slightly.

A faint blue glow escaped.

Mia whispered:

“Soon… everyone will belong to the sea.”

Sebastian smirked.

“The sirens will rise again.”

Julie’s eyes widened.

Sirens?

Before she could hear more—

Sebastian quickly locked the box again.

Julie hurried away unnoticed.

Her heart raced.

The Midnight Walkers

That night during dinner—

Julie told Noah and Hannah everything.

But Noah laughed softly.

“You’ve been reading too many spooky stories.”

Hannah smiled.

“Sebastian is probably just trying to entertain guests.”

Julie frowned.

“They were hiding something.”

Later that night—

Julie put on wireless earphones and listened to ASMR before sleeping.

That was her nightly habit.

Soft relaxing sounds filled her ears.

Then—

She noticed movement outside the window.

People.

Walking slowly.

Expressionless.

Like sleepwalkers.

Julie removed one earbud—

And instantly heard it.

The singing.

Beautiful.

Terrifying.

Her eyes widened.

She quickly put the earphones back on.

The singing vanished.

Julie whispered shakily:

“…The sound…”

“It’s controlling them…”

The Curse Begins

Julie rushed outside.

“Mom?! Dad?!”

No answer.

Their hotel room door stood open.

Julie’s breathing quickened.

Then she saw them.

Noah and Hannah walking slowly toward the beach.

Their faces empty.

Soulless.

Julie grabbed them desperately.

“Wake up!”

Nothing.

Around them—

Dozens of resort guests slowly walked toward the sea.

Julie backed away fearfully.

Keeping her earphones on.

Then—

She saw Sebastian and Mia standing near the shore.

Beside them…

Creatures emerged from the water.

Beautiful women…

With monstrous eyes.

And tails beneath the waves.

They sang together.

Sebastian laughed darkly.

“Our kingdom finally returns.”

Julie remembered the glowing box.

Without hesitation—

She ran.

The Crystal Heart

Julie burst into Sebastian’s office.

Hands trembling.

She unlocked the wooden chest.

Inside—

A glowing blue crystal heart.

Beautiful.

Warm.

Alive.

Suddenly—

A voice behind her.

“You shouldn’t touch that.”

Julie turned.

Mia stood in the doorway.

Smiling coldly.

Julie hid the box behind her.

“What is this?!”

Mia stepped closer calmly.

“The heart of the Mermaid Queen.”

Julie stared.

Mia’s eyes darkened.

“Humans blame mermaids for disappearances.”

“But the truth…”

Her smile twisted.

“…was always us.”

Her skin slowly changed.

Scales shimmered across her body.

Her eyes became monstrous.

“We are sirens.”

“Attractive lies are easier to believe.”

Julie backed away horrified.

Mia hissed:

“Give me the heart.”

Julie shook her head and ran.

The Hill

Storm clouds gathered above the resort.

Julie climbed the dark hill desperately.

At the top—

A gigantic seashell rested among glowing plants.

Closed tightly.

Julie tried pushing it open.

Nothing.

She looked at the crystal heart.

“…Please…”

Suddenly—

The heart floated upward.

Blue light exploded around the hill.

The shell slowly opened.

Inside—

A sleeping mermaid.

Beautiful.

Weak.

Silent.

The crystal heart gently entered her chest.

At that exact moment—

Sebastian and Mia arrived.

“You foolish child!” Sebastian roared.

He lunged toward Julie—

But suddenly—

A blast of magical energy threw both sirens backward.

The mermaid awakened.

Her silver-blue eyes opened slowly.

Julie stepped back fearfully.

The mermaid smiled gently.

“Do not fear me.”

“My name is…”

“…Arianna.”

Queen of the Mermaids

Arianna rose gracefully.

Moonlight shimmered across her scales.

“The sirens imprisoned my people…”

“And turned humans against us.”

Julie whispered:

“The statues…”

Arianna nodded sadly.

“My sisters.”

She handed Julie glowing magic from the crystal heart.

“Break their prison.”

Julie touched the nearest statue.

CRACK.

The statue transformed—

Into a living mermaid.

Then another.

And another.

Across the resort—

Mermaids awakened.

Meanwhile—

The hypnotized humans suddenly collapsed unconscious.

Noah and Hannah slowly woke up confused.

“What happened?”

Julie hugged them tightly.

“We need to leave!”

Battle at the Shore

At the ocean cliffs—

Arianna confronted Sebastian and Mia.

The sirens screeched furiously.

Dark waves crashed violently.

Sebastian transformed fully into the Siren King.

“We ruled these seas before humans existed!”

Arianna raised the crystal heart.

“And you ruled through fear.”

The ocean glowed brilliantly.

Mermaids emerged from the waves beside Arianna.

The battle began.

Songs collided like storms.

Water spiraled violently around the cliffs.

Mia attacked fiercely—

But Arianna’s magic overwhelmed her.

The crystal heart shined brighter and brighter.

Finally—

A massive tidal wave of blue light erupted across the sea.

The sirens screamed—

And vanished beneath the dark water forever.

Silence returned.

Only moonlight remained.

The Next Morning

Sunlight returned peacefully to the resort.

The ocean looked calm again.

Almost innocent.

Julie stood quietly near the beach.

Noah gently patted her shoulder.

“You okay?”

Julie nodded softly.

Nearby, confused tourists discussed strange memories from last night.

Then—

A woman in a navy business suit approached.

She smiled professionally.

“Good morning everyone.”

“I’m Ms. Kim, the new resort manager.”

A guest asked:

“What happened to Mr. Fischer and Ms. Hoffman?”

Ms. Kim smiled calmly.

“Unfortunately, they’ve left the resort permanently.”

“We’ll take care of everything from now on.”

Julie stared carefully at her.

Something felt familiar.

As Noah and Hannah walked Julie toward breakfast—

Ms. Kim quietly turned toward the ocean.

In the distance—

Several mermaids emerged briefly from the waves.

Ms. Kim smiled softly at them.

Because she was never truly human.

She was—

Queen Arianna.

Watching over the resort in secret.

Forever.

Back to Michelle’s Spooky Mansion

Michelle sits beside the mermaid statue again.

“Well…”

“That was a dangerous vacation.

She laughs softly.

“I told you not every ocean creature is friendly.”

She crosses her legs comfortably.

“You know, people often confuse mermaids and sirens.”

“But in mythology…”

“They’re very different.”

She explains carefully:

“Mermaids are usually connected to the sea, beauty, curiosity, and sometimes kindness.”

“Sirens, however…”

“…were often described as creatures who lured sailors to destruction.”

Michelle raises one finger playfully.

“Though depending on the legend…”

“Sometimes mermaids can be terrifying too.”

She continues sharing old myths:

Greek sirens.

Scottish selkies.

Russian rusalkas.

Caribbean ocean spirits.

Japanese ningyo legends.

“All cultures fear the unknown beneath the waves.”

She smiles quietly.

“And honestly…”

“The ocean still hides many secrets today.”

Thunder rumbles outside the mansion again.

Michelle stands near the window.

“Thank you for visiting tonight.”

“And remember…”

“If you hear singing near the ocean at midnight…”

She grins mischievously.

“…maybe don’t follow it.”

Suddenly—

Behind Michelle—

The bronze mermaid statue slowly turns its head toward us.

Its stone lips curl into a faint smile.

Michelle remains unaware.

The candles extinguish instantly.

Darkness.
