Feeling body comp and low inflamation early without scale changes
Hey all. This post is really just a reflection on my first two weeks on Reta. I was prescribed Wegovy a few months ago, and was noticing weight loss effects, but the side effects sucked. The low energy devastated me, I didn't like the way it suppressed my hunger and had me eating only unhealthy things the one time I ate, and the price. I paid the $199 for the first two months then decided I couldn't afford it once it was going to be $349 a month. I thought my glp journey was over.
Well fast forward to a month ago when I fell down the reta rabbit hole. Found a reseller that was decent, especially compared to white market wegovy. Started with 1mg to see how my body reacted. Next week I did 2mg and the side effects were minimal. The hunger suppression has been different from Wegovy for sure. I still get hungry, but I get full faster if that makes sense. Hitting my protein macros has been super easy, as has making good food choices when I do it. Exercise has also been easier this time. I do not feel the wiped out feeling I got from wegovy. I actually feel like I have more energy. I hope this feeling lasts as I titrate up.
But the weird thing is that even though the scale isn't dropping super fast, my clothes are already feeling way better, and I notice my face bloat (and general bloating altogether) is hitting early. I started taking creatine as well, and that always causes an initial gain of 5-8 lbs for me. So I have not been worried about weight loss yet as my body adjusts to the new diet/exercise/drug protocol. I'm taking psyllium fiber, a probiotic, and collagen as well so maybe those have helped clear out my system.
All of this is to just say, I can't believe I'm feeling the effects this early on without losing a ton of weight. It's like my body is finally running correctly, if that makes sense. It's a feeling I've only ever gotten from being fat adapted on keto, but without the super strict restrictions on food. I'm really loving it.
