MIDI keyboard + synth with keyboard?

Hey guys I’m just getting my first synth (a minifreak). And I already have a novation launchkey 49 key mk4 so I’m wondering if it’s a little redundant to have both. Or what do people usually have in their setups? I’m only think about keeping it for controlling vsts in my daw for producing but I also use it for its scale mode and easy scale mode which r pretty nice. So I was just wondering if it’s redundant to keep both or what u guys usually have in ur setups?
