Positive treatment story

After experiencing some unpleasant symptoms (mostly frequent belching, acid reflux after eating, a pain in my chest and anxiety), i took a urea breath test which revealed that i was positive for H Pylori.

I started the NHS 7 day triple therapy (clarithromycin, metronidazole and omeprazole) in January. During the first 2 days of the treatment, i didn't have any symptoms other than feeling hungry. After day two i had minor symptoms of feeling slightly nauseous and more tired than usual but these disappeared.

I have had some lingering symptoms (belching more frequently than i used to) but overall i am feeling much better and believe i am on the path to recovery. I was retested 2 weeks ago and the results came back negative.

I have seen many horror stories on here regarding failed treatment and horrendous antibiotic side effects which i read when my test was booked and, as someone with health anxiety, it made me feel a lot worse about the whole process. I felt the need to share my story to show that there are also success stories (even with the 7 day treatment cycle) and hope that it can help relax some people who are about to undergo treatment and have concerns.
