I went to a gynaecologist for the first time and she told I happen to have low pain tolerance and I'm trying to know too much about my body.
I am 19(f) and I went to a gynaecologist for the first time. Since I was 14 I have had really painful periods and I've faced a lot of weight fluctuations over the years. I tried to manage my weight and also made changes in my lifestyle thinking that's where the problem lied but when I was in 11th grade my periods became worse and I also started having all the symptoms 10 days prior to my period, my abdomen gets swollen, bloating, really bad mood swings, crazy breakdowns, weight fluctuations, I feel fatigued and depressed and all such things. My periods are so bad that I can barely function for 4 days that I have to skip classes and if i ever try to do anything I get dizzy and I've also had a fever because I didn't rest when i was on my period. Since It was not manageable for me I thought of searching for it and it matched with the symptoms of PMDD. I wanted to confirm it all so I thought I'll get myself checked and I went to a gynaecologist, she was around 63, my parents have known her forever so they suggested i get myself checked there and guess what she had to say about all these things I told her about. She told me it was all in my head and I read too much about it. I should just manage my weight and it will all be fine. She also said I have a really low pain tolerance and the cramps can be managed, I don't have to skip classes doing all the tamasha. I surely am overweight but since I've started having all the symptoms of PMDD that's when I started having weight fluctuations as well. I don't eat junk, sugar or take too much caffeine. I also workout and manage my diet and lifestyle because when I searched about the cure of PMDD that's what it suggested but it didn't get any better. The doctor didn't want to understand what I was saying she just told me that, "You're not supposed to know about ovulation, tell me why do you know? Do you wanna get pregnant? Knowing this much about your body is of no use, it's our job to know all this not yours". I told her that it's good to be aware so she told me that I'm talking back.
As much as I know I was trying to be aware of whatever was happening to me by understanding things better and did all the possible things yet I'm facing a lot of problems and it's just bad, going to the gynaecologist also wasn't much of an help now I'm really done and don't know what to do.
