RapidRAW v1.5.5 released — Parametric Curves, Manual Denoise, Custom Shortcuts & more
CyberTimon has pushed out v1.5.5, a release focused on sharper editing control and a faster overall workflow. Highlights from the changelog:
**New features**
* **Parametric Curves** — precise tonal control over shadows, midtones, and highlights, with adjustable range, transition, and expansion. More targeted than a traditional tone curve.
* **Manual Noise Reduction** — separate Luminance and Color sliders for dialing in detail-preserving denoise alongside the existing AI denoiser.
* **Customizable keyboard shortcuts** — a dedicated settings panel for remapping any action to your own keybinds.
* **EXIF editing** — Author, Copyright, Title, and Comment fields are now editable directly in the metadata panel.
* **Focus Mode** — auto-collapses adjustment sections so only the active one stays open.
**Core improvements**
* Completely rewritten thumbnail generation with dedicated background workers — significantly faster library browsing on large folders, and the RAM spikes are gone.
* New unified mask pipeline that calculates total mask influence from the base image instead of stacking adjustments sequentially. More consistent blending with complex mask stacks. Note: edits made in older versions on heavily-masked images may look slightly different and need a quick readjustment.
* Improved filmic exposure algorithm with a new tonemapper override for advanced users.
* Major UI improvements for vertical screens and tablets.
* Better local contrast (clarity, structure, sharpness) with fewer artifacts.
* Backend refactoring across the app for stability and performance.
* Batch editing now correctly respects copy/paste settings.
**Downloads**
Builds are available for Linux, Windows, macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel), and an experimental Android APK. Full asset list and platform-specific launch notes (SmartScreen on Windows, quarantine flag on macOS, compatibility mode on Linux, library path change on Android) on the release page:
