Nearly every time i go downtown or anywhere in Nanaimo something crazy is happening
One time me and my partner were driving through the downtown area and we saw some dude running from something, and he was knocking things in the path of whatever or whoever he was running from. It looked like a cop chase scene from a film except i didn’t see a cop.
Another time my partner was at the grocery store and saw a crazy interaction between a security guard and a lady with her kid. He accused her of stealing when she didn't and he wouldn’t let her leave, and people had to get in the middle of it.
I’ve seen and been a part of a few arguments at colliery dam park that were ridiculous and escalated quickly.
Recently we went and got donairs and some guy randomly charged a guy outside, held him to the ground by stepping on his head and began looking through his wallet. It was really fucking nuts and we ended up just leaving cause we had no idea what was happening.
Yesterday me and my partner were shopping at the grocery store downtown and the bagging guy started arguing with this other guy who was shopping, and it was so random and weird. Turned into yelling and hurling obscenities at one another.
All of this is to say, I’ve lived many places around Canada and this place is somehow the most chaotic. Sometimes it’s so funny but other times I’m just concerned for the emotional and mental well-being of our people. Cause why are grown men being violent towards each other in a grocery store? why not just avoid the interaction?
Maybe I just grew up in a time when violence became more frowned upon…
Be careful out there folks.
This place reminds me of Prince George but like, on steroids lol. I didn’t even see this amount of violent crime in my time living in stinky PG…
