crimson desert and the clock of unbearable bordem. | TL,DR: unecessary time gating in videogames was bad then, and it's bad now.

Discussion

i was riding around in the castle square and i saw a post for a bounty. i picked up the poster, rode to the place where the bounty was and he wasn't there. i thought, glitch? and went to google his whereabouts. i then was met the dumbfounding realisation that i had initiated that quest "at the wrong time of day".

i figured, well i'll just go sleep in a bed or wait by a campfire (like i would in one of the highest rated games of all time, rdr2, for example) and put myself in the "right" time of day. but i couldn't. because i couldn't sleep at all. the game wouldn't let me. so i had to wait. for the painfully slow timer to tick over into the "right time of day" to allow me to do the quest.

this took about 10-15 minutes in real time. and i had no clue when it would happen again (because the game doesn't tell you) and i had no idea how long the wait times would be (because the game doesn't tell you). the simple solution, that should've never even needed to be solved is to just let me sleep whenever i want, turning that unecessary wait of 10-15 minutes, into maybe a minute and a half.

i found out that there was another MAIN quest, that had this same forced waiting mechanic and i would be waiting for AN HOUR in real time. this needs to absolutely go. i hope to fucking christ this update adds this "wait anytime" feature, it should've been there from the start.
