i genuinely think people are overreacting way too much to what’s happening at madrid right now. every big club has dressing room arguments, tensions, leaks, and bad moments during difficult periods. the difference is that when it happens at real madrid, the entire football world hears about it instantly because the club is under a microscope 24/7.

over the last two years especially, every madrid disappointment has been treated like the end of an era, while every internal issue becomes front-page news. meanwhile, similar situations at other elite clubs barely get discussed outside their own fanbases.

that doesn’t mean the criticism is completely fake. madrid have had inconsistent performances, injuries, and internal frustrations recently. but people are acting like this automatically means barcelona will dominate el clásico, and i honestly don’t see it that way.

barca also haven’t looked as untouchable recently as people make it seem. there have been several games where they’ve struggled to control matches for long periods, looked vulnerable defensively, and relied heavily on moments rather than complete dominance. the pressure is also entirely on them now because they are expected to finish the league off and real madrid have nothing to lose after what has happened all year.

madrid are entering this game with a very different mentality. this is the kind of situation where the club usually responds best: when everybody doubts them, when the media is against them, and when people start pushing narratives about “crisis” and “collapse.”

tactically, madrid still have clear ways to hurt barcelona. barca’s high line always leaves space in transition, and if players like vini, mbappé, and bellingham find those spaces early, the game can completely change. madrid do not need to dominate possession to win this match. they need discipline, compact defending, and efficiency in transitions.

and if madrid win, most of the narratives from the last few weeks disappear immediately. suddenly people stop talking about dressing room tension and start talking about mentality again. that’s how quickly the conversation changes around this club.
