yo, so i’ve been stuck in this whole trap since i was literally 12. they really do catch you so young and it's a straight up horrible industry. spent so long in it that i didn't even notice it was killing my drive and messing with my mood... it just felt normal to me. but i'm finally here now :)

for the people wondering why i started on dec 31st—i was at a cottage with my boys for new years eve and just decided to start a day early to get ahead of it lol.

honestly that first month was the hardest part. i knew i couldn't just rely on willpower, so i went full strict mode and blocked every site. that was the big thing i was missing before. as time goes on the urges definitely fade, but i’d recommend keeping the setup forever just to stay in control.

**my setup:**

• on **phone:** i use a blocker with strict mode (no way to delete or bypass it). the normal apple/web blockers didn't work for me because i'd just turn them off whenever i had an urge... not proud of it.

•on **pc:** i set my dns to cleanbrowsing (family filter) to nuke all those sites.

**the progress i'm actually seeing:**

• **mental strength:** i feel way more present and grounded. setbacks don't wreck me like they used to.

• **social life:** before i had zero interest in dating or meeting people. lately i've actually been going out and enjoying being around people again.

• **positivity:** my vibe is just... better. hard to explain the fog, but once it's gone everything feels more alive.

if you've been stuck in this since you were a kid like me, trust me the grind is worth it. that first month is a war but the clarity on the other side is crazy.

anyone else start this at the beginning of 2026? let me know in the comments 💪 thanks
