Delta FAs: flying home after calling out sick, what is the process?

Hi to keep it short: if you work for delta and call out sick as a commuter are you able to fly home for recovery? This is after alerting your fsm but not hearing back yet. Wasn't sure on the process and couldn't find more info. Feeling a bit locked in place but want to return home to recover
