When marriage became real she ran

FA Breakup

We were together 3 years. I had been going through a long drawn out divorce for 4 years. Our relationship was great, we were best friends and it all came so easily. She was understandably frustrated with how long my divorce was taking but as it neared the finish line she got more and more frustrated with it and would tell me then I’d do what I could to calm her fears.

We went looking at engagement rings like she had been wanting to. Then 10 days later I told her I had the signed divorce agreement and it was finally done. I’d hoped for celebration, instead 20 minutes later she told me she was done.

Her gripes and reasoning for being upset were legitimate but workable and the stressor was gone. That combined with the real commitment of marriage triggered her avoidance I didn’t even know was there. We still lived together for 6 weeks and she went completely cold and distant and got more and more angry. She’s already rebounding with other guys before either of us even moved out of the house, I just moved this last weekend finally.

It’s amazing someone can go from I love you in a way I’ve never loved anyone, and I want to shop for rings before you propose… to breaking up and telling me I don’t deserve her emotions good or bad and not texting me about anything other than house and pet logistics one single time.
