Is Maranello/Modena worth the day trip from Rome?

I’m visiting Rome from the 8-10th, and am a huge racing/motorsports fan. We’re staying just outside Rome and I’d love to visit Ferrari’s museums in the north, but am wondering if this is too much to do in a day? From what I’ve found I’d leave near 8 and come back a bit earlier than that in the afternoon. I feel like I would regret not going, but I’m doubting whether it’s logistically smart. Any advice or thoughts from anyone who has done this?
