do young writers have a place in wriring community

i genuinely thought college would be where i'd find my writing people. and was i wrong,
the creative writing workshop is full of people who already think they're the next sally rooney and critique sessions turn into weird ego stuff. the rest of my friends are great but none of them write, they ask "how's the book going" once every couple months and that's the extent of it. my mom wants me to focus on getting a real job after graduation, my dad doesn't even know i write.
i just want a discord or smth where people actually talk about the work. share a scene, get a real read, return the favor or just talk about what you're reading, characters living rent free in your head, the bad first drafts not just a clout server, not a place where you have to already be good to belong.
if you're in something like that pls drop it. and if you're another student writing around classes and a job and just being 21. how do you keep it going
