[Discussion] Struggling with Terminal motivation...

PVP

I've been having fun pretty much all wipe, especially moving through the story chapters. So much so that up until last week I hadn't touched another game since 1.0 released. But having just hit Terminal, and having given it a few attempts, I just don't really want to keep trying.

This isn't a rant about it being too hard (it really isn't), or that it needs changes (although it might), but I just don't really have motivation to keep trying attempts. It feels like a pretty big waste of time, and the rng of each attempt makes it feel like it's just a matter of brute force at this point.

Each attempt costs me like an hour of my time, from loading Shoreline, to running to the transit, to loading in transit, to cutscenes, to waiting for the door to open, and then however long my attempt lasts. This isn't even to mention having to wait at least an hour for the time window to be correct if you just miss it.

And it's not like I hate challenges, as I quite enjoy playing Souls-like games where you might spend hours just fighting one boss. But terminal just doesn't feel the same way, which it should. Maybe it's the tediousness of it taking 20-30 minutes just to even start an attempt, or that you risk losing your kit on Shoreline, or that you have to wait irl for the time window to be correct. I don't really have any solutions to offer (other than being to able to queue straight into Terminal, but we know bsg won't do that), but I just wanted to get this little rant off my chest.
