Beyond vs Impossible burger
I finally got around to trying the frozen Impossible burger patties yesterday because I wanted to compare them to the Beyond ones, which I've had plenty of times before. In the surprisingly few reddit discussions I found about this topic, most people seemed to prefer the Impossible burger because it supposedly tastes more like meat.
In my opinion, the Impossible burger does taste like it's trying harder to imitate meat but is worse off for it. Beyond burger kind of owns that it isn't actually meat, but it still tastes good in its own way. On the other hand, Impossible burger kind of tastes like someone added fake meat flavoring to a Beyond burger. It ends up landing in a weird artificial-tasting middle ground, with a texture that still isn't anywhere close to meat.
What does everyone else think?
