Utility Easement Repairs

Let's say that a utility company is laying new wire in their easement but to do so they cut a square out of your concrete driveway. By cutting the square, the contractors create cracks through a significant portion of the rest of the driveway. Can the contractor just patch their hole or do they have to restore the driveway to the condition it was in prior to doing work?
