I've finally understood Beach House

I listened to Beach House for the first time in 2014. Teen Dream was the introduction. I really liked it and it was on heavy repeat for a while. It didn't become a favourite, and I didn't explore more from them. Every once in a while I would listen to Teen Dream, and that was it.

Then in January 2023 I listened to Bloom for the first time. Something changed. I couldn't stop listening to it. I became completely obsessed with Irene. I started exploring more and more. A few months later I'd explored most of their discography. Over and Over. By the end of the year the streaming app I was using at the time made me realise it was by far the artist I'd listened to the most. I guess that made conscious they had become my favourite band.

I work on building complex systems in the field of machine learning. I'm obsessed by the problem I work on. It became a really hard problem and I started introducing words from the Beach House universe to model it. At some point I decided to consciously express some logic of my problem in the word of physics.

WOW. They're drawing deep inspiration from the world of physics, astrophysics and cosmology for capturing beauty, purity, nothingness. I understand now how they pulled me to their universe in such a profound and unique way. Victoria and Alex have truly changed my life. I'm in awe.
