Rootha and Veyran

I think I know the answer to this, since the cards come in the same precon, but I want to make sure I'm not missing something obvious.

Does [[Rootha, Mastering the Moment]] 's ability count for [[Veyran, Voice of Duality]]? Does the "if" clause in Rootha make it a triggered ability that is caused by casting a sorcery or instant for the purposes of Veyran?

I assumed the answer is yes, but I had a discussion with a friend and we weren't 100% confident.
