Planning Healthy Meal Prep for the Week What Made It Easier to Stay Consistent

Not gonna lie, I used to think meal prep was only for hardcore gym people with perfect lives and 40 glass containers stacked in their fridge lol. Every time I tried it, I’d last maybe 3 days before ordering takeout again.

What finally made it stick for me was keeping it stupid simple.

Instead of making fancy meals, I started prepping basic stuff I actually like eating. Chicken, rice, potatoes, ground beef, eggs, fruit, yogurt. Nothing crazy. I also stopped trying to prep every single meal for the whole week because by Thursday the food tasted sad as hell.

Now I usually prep enough for like 3 days max. Way easier mentally and the food tastes better too.

Biggest game changer was having snacks ready. If I don’t have quick healthy stuff around, I turn into a raccoon at night digging through cabinets for junk food. Protein bars, fruit, popcorn, and Greek yogurt saved me a bunch of times.

Another thing that helped was not aiming for perfection. If one meal isn’t super healthy, who cares. Before, I’d mess up once and basically quit the whole week.

Consistency got easier once I stopped treating meal prep like some strict fitness challenge and more like making life less annoying during busy days.
