excuses to skip class

can i tell my prof that i have to attend a funeral because i'm going to watch a deftones concert? technically, i'm not gonna skip his class. i would be going for a makeup class.

and yes, i have considered using the "sickness" excuse but my circumstance is a little special so i came up with "funeral".... :P
