“Threat”-based mode
After a 30 day ban for speaking the truth, I have risen. Again, love the lore, graphics, I don’t want the game to die… blah blah blah the standard glaze everyone says so you at least know I like the bones of the game… whatever.
Yeah the game doesn’t appeal to casuals shocker, but I’m back with more ideas, and I thought about “Threat” based mode access, what if they reworked ranked to be a playlist that changes the map location every few hours, and when you queue in it, you’ll be split into queue pool depending on your “Threat” score, which the higher the queue pool you queue into the map itself will have higher loot, but also higher UESC activity.
“Threat” would be a number assigned to you based on 2 things, and bungie can work out the math, your KDA against other runners, your Damage dealt to UESC units (Multiplier against high ranked units) inside “Threat” version of maps themselves.
THIS IS NOT AGGRESSION based matchmaking, this is a matchmaking option that incentivizes good players to push up higher and higher, while the unranked playlist will have its loot brought down, and making unranked maps used to finish quests, stack up on essential progression loot, and admire the lore of the game.
I also think for unranked, they should let people drop into ongoing games specially as loot rarity would go down and its used more as salvaging, and finishing quest.
Upper competitive echelon players would be not get any “Threat” score from playing unranked, meaning they would be heavily incentivized to play “Threat” versions of maps, and giving them a constant and more frequent rotation of maps, will ensure there is a better divide to allow hardcore players to have their cake slice, and casual player to have their cake slice.
