Just Finished Book 3 of the Mistborn Trilogy. Was This Mormon Propaganda The Whole Time?

I knew Brandon Sanderson was mormon and I know a decent amount about mormonism. This whole thing just feels like a pretty solid copy of that religion in fantasy form.

Im sure people on this sub have strong opinions about this. Did I just get tricked? Was this like letting missionaries into my house?
