How well is playing with Dual Touchpads primarily on the new Steam Controller?

The controller is almost a week old, and wanting to pick one up soon. However, as someone who primarily grew to really like playing with both Touchpads; can the same be done on the new one? I've seen people saying it's possible, but not very comfortable in the long run due to their placement, as well as their size.
