Do we really need a purpose?
Purpose sounds noble.
A reason to wake up.
A story that makes your life feel important.
A clean “why” to justify every breath. But the moment you name it, something dies.Purpose is not freedom.
It is the most elegant parasite consciousness ever evolved. It feeds on raw experience and shits out narrative.
Every sunset must now “mean” resilience.
Every random conversation must serve your growth.
Every idle moment gets audited: Does this align with my purpose? You stop living.
You start performing alignment. The mind loves it because uncertainty is terrifying.
Better to be a character in a heroic plot than a pointless flicker in an indifferent cosmos.
So we turn existence into a résumé for the universe. We chase meaning the way a junkie chases the next hit — anything to avoid the unbearable lightness of just being here without justification.Drop the question entirely.Stop asking what life means.
Stop demanding that your actions earn their right to exist. When nothing has to mean anything, everything finally becomes alive.A pointless walk at 2 a.m.
A conversation that goes nowhere.
Boredom without a productivity lesson attached.
Laughter with no deeper takeaway. These are not wastes of time.
They are the only time that was ever real.Purpose doesn’t give life direction.
It gives life a cage — beautifully decorated, socially applauded, and slowly suffocating. The deepest freedom isn’t finding your purpose.
It’s realizing you never needed one.
Be here —
before the parasite turns it into something else.
