The Metro Files
The Metro Files
Unreleased document from the SCR team.
Metro is an operator in SCR, added in V2.2, though there were early plans for Metro way back in SCR’s early days, but it was scrapped. According to these files, we’ll discuss the true reason why the original Metro was cancelled.
In the late 2010s, Stepford County was growing, and with that a rapid transit rail service was needed. So Transport for Stepford came up with a solution: Metro. Metro would run around various districts in the county such as: Stepford, Whitefield, Benton, Morganstown, Winstree, etc. The purpose of Metro was to connect districts with high frequency, fast, electric train service. Metro would be a dual mode operator, with the Metro loop and Whitefield Branch using third rail, while everything else would use OHLE. Metro would be using Class 465s, Class 466s, Class 707s (Later given to Connect), Class 377s (Again, later given to Connect), Class 378s, and Class 319s (Later given to Waterline). Construction began in 2017, everything was smooth sailing until a mysterious masked man started showing up at stations.
This right here is one of the 5 sightings of the masked man. Here he is at University station.
If one were to approach the masked man, the man would attack the person. Eventually, it got so bad that Transport for Stepford ended up doing an investigation, they found out that within the 100 days that happened, this person who opposed the project was the masked man. Eventually he was arrested. However, Transport for Stepford ended up cancelling the project, due to budget constraints from the other Connect project. All remaining infrastructure of Metro was later removed. However, in 2024 Transport for Stepford decided to revive Metro, due to further population growth in the county, especially around Stepford and Berrily/Morganstown. As of May 2025, the new Metro has been operating. This is the end of the story.
