Saddle Bags?!?!

Been riding for years and recently decided to remove my saddle bags... on most rides they're empty or what I'm carrying can fit a book back. Also... my bike looks sick without them. Now questioning why I had bags as standed vs just putting them on when actually planning on needing them. Bags or Not?
