Mother’s Day, Gen X Style

Let’s be honest… Mother’s Day for Gen X moms usually looks something like this:
No text from the kids until mid-afternoon
A gas station flower bouquet
Someone says “Don’t make dinner tonight!” while holding a burnt breakfast sandwich
And somehow you still end the day emotional over a handwritten card with bad spelling
We grew up tough. Raised kids on sarcasm, MTV, hose water, and “figure it out” energy.
And honestly?
We wouldn’t trade it.
Because behind the chaos, forgotten texts, and slightly overcooked eggs… there’s love. Imperfect, hilarious, exhausted love.
