Hey everyone,

After the feedback I got on my Amerika Bomber post, I wanted to share another key moment from my uchronia project, "The Axis Century". This time, I’m looking at the collapse of the "Northern Artery" in August 1941.

The main divergence here is the fall of Leningrad in July. In this timeline, that victory happens so fast that the Finnish High Command and the OKW can shift specialized resources north way earlier than they did in real life. Mannerheim basically decides that the Soviet collapse is inevitable, ignores the diplomatic heat from the US and UK, and goes all-in on cutting the Murmansk Railway.

The way I see it, they wouldn't use a WWI-style front —Karelia is just too rough for that—. Instead, it’s a "logistical net" based on a few key things:

Sissi units: Heavy use of Finnish rangers for deep infiltration.

Organisation Todt: I’ve researched the OT engineering capabilities, and I think they could have pushed "Prügelwege" (corduroy roads) and 600mm "Feldbahn" tracks through the summer terrain pretty quickly to keep the advance moving.

The Ju 52 Bridge: A steady flow of high-value supplies (explosives, batteries, ammo) to keep those interdiction units active in the "dead zones" along the tracks.

By August, the line isn't just sabotaged —it's physically severed—. This creates a massive logistical vacuum, and without that Lend-Lease lifeline, the Soviet center just can't hold by 1942.

I’ve spent a lot of time looking into the geography and the engineering side of things for the summer months. I’d love to hear what you guys think about the feasibility of this "Hit and Stay" tactic compared to the more cautious approach we saw in history!

(I have a full breakdown on my channel, Hijos de Cronos. The video is in Spanish, but many of my videos now include English audio tracks and multilingual subtitles if you want to check out the full lore).
