Which brands offer durable and reliable material hoists for construction sites?

Man Tuesday was an absolute joke on site. We were hauling a heavy skid of cement bags up to the fourth floor and our ancient material hoist literally jammed halfway up. It made this awful grinding noise and just dropped a couple feet. Lemme tell you the site super almost had a stroke right there. Boss told me to find a replacement before someone gets killed.
I was just sitting in my truck eating lunch doomscrolling Alibaba to see what kind of heavy gear is even out there. Ngl I was actually pretty shocked. The listings had these raw uncut videos showing huge loads going up super smooth and the motor specs looked totally legit. It gave me hope we could snag a real beast without the boss going broke.
But dudes I am honestly so lost looking at all this right now. Which brands offer durable and reliable material hoists for construction sites? Is a rack and pinion setup actually way safer than the old wire rope style or is that just marketing garbage? And how do you even install the tall mast sections without a massive crane? Please drop some advice cause I am clueless
