dynamic light problem

Does the dynamic light on the Vivo V60 Lite 5G only light up briefly and then turn off?

I thought it would work like the old notification LEDs on older phones, where it keeps blinking until you unlock the screen or check the notification. On my phone, it only lights up when the call/notification first arrives and then turns off completely.

Is this normal behavior or is there a setting I need to enable?
