Boutique Parfume Making Class - Success!

This sub is often full of people asking for recommendations so I thought it would be nice to share my experience.

For our first anniversary, my boyfriend and I decided to do a perfume making class. We chose a boutique class with Bouquet Parfume. It was an intimate (~10 people), two hour workshop where you make your perfume from scratch. You learn about base notes, heart notes, and top notes and how perfume is made. For each round, you smell at least 8-9 different types of scents, identify which ones you like the most and want to add to your perfume. Then, Nathan (the owner) identifies the ratios based on what you've selected and also what you have previously added. One thing I really liked was that he would tell people "no" if he knew a particular scent would be too overpowering for the overall profile of the perfume.

Once you've created it, you'll fill out a survey with the exact ratios of your perfume so that you can have Nathan remake it for you later if you want another bottle. Mine is still maturing (needs about 4-6 weeks) so I haven't started wearing it yet but the class was so much fun that I really think others should try it.
