Pre surgery theme park vacation?

Question

Hi all!

I have a fully torn ACL from skiing in April. It is in a knee that already was my bad knee - chondrosis/arthritis. Despite that, I was an avid runner and did lots of exercise classes.

We have had a trip to universal planned forever in June to celebrate a kids birthday.

My surgery is scheduled for 2 days after we return home.

All told we will be in parks for 3 days - 1 full day at the new Epic park, and then 2 nights of the after hours event (6ish hours each night). I would expect 20,000 steps a day.

Normally this would not be a strain for me. But I’m worried about messing up my knee so close to surgery. Will this kind of walking inflame my knee? My surgeon just said let my body be my guide.

I am walking about 6-7k steps a day now, which includes a 2 mile dog walk. I am doing pt and ride a stationary bike 5 miles every other day.

Has anyone done a Disney/ or universal trip pre surgery? What precautions would you recommend?

Thanks!
