The curious case of the ‘ex’

The other day I came across a post on Instagram that says - Men love through absence , women through presence . Having said that, the sheer amount of “I am obsessed with my ex”, “ I imagine my ex while having sex with my current partner, “ still not over ex even though my current partner is amazing “ “ want my ex back” - disparagingly alarming . Men / women in relationships do not probably have the slightest idea that perhaps the one they share the bed with dreams of a life with another man or woman. This is beyond disheartening. The anonymity of reddit gives a safe space to human beings to express and however secure it may appear to me ,it is almost frightening to imagine someone out of us lives with this almost an invisible figure lurking above their head that poses a threat to their perfect idea of love. Scary.
