I have a 2019 Honda Fit with 145k miles. In the last two weeks my car would make this awful scraping noise. Up until a few days ago it would happen very inconsistently, sometimes when I turn right, sometimes not; sometimes when I'm driving straight and then to stop it I could move the steering wheel slightly to the left or right. 

Within the last couple of days though it has gotten noticeably worse. It happens now when I brake and is now accompanied by a loud, low noise that gets worse at lower speeds, and the scraping noise will stick (only sometimes) while driving straight, with the trick of turning the wheel to make it stop only working towards the left now. It hasn't affected driving more than the anxiety it causes me.

I have a mechanic appointment in a few days and have stopped driving it to prevent any further damage. No lights on the dashboard.

I'm thinking it could be a wheel bearing? I do notice when I drive past cars with the windows down the noise gets reflected back at me, and it sounds harsher on the left than the right. I'd just like to know what kind of news to expect and what I could expect to pay. Thanks!
