I want to push back on what seems to be the consensus take on S4, which is that E4 the hell episode was filler or wasted runtime.

While it wasn't the most exciting to watch, I believed it served a purpose in Mark narrative arc, especially when we look at him as a nietzschean protagonist.
>!It seems to me that we can quite obviously link the viltrumite ideal with the na\*i ideal. While Na\*ism is inspired by a falsified version of Nietzsche, I believe the show is setting up Mark to be the true Übermensch of the show. !<

>!When we think about it, Mark chooses the blue suit when separating from the Guardians of the Globe and the autors mentioned it was a reflection of the Venom suit in Spider-Man. A darker moment in his arc, where I would argue, he is overcome by bad conscience. !<
>!To take the analogy from Zarathoustra, he endorses society's values and feels a lot of guilt when his viltrumite violence gets out; he is a camel. He then turns this violence against none other then himself. !<

This trend kind of goes on until EP4 S4.

>!He goes to hell and learns there is no heaven. When coming out of this episode, he seems liberated from the burdens of guilt since there is no God to judge his actions. He is free to create his own values. I would say this is as close a moment of "God is dead" as we can get. !<

What's the read on E4 that I'm missing? Genuine pushback is welcome.

I'm a philosophy teacher and I made a 20-min video essay laying this out (fair warning, it is French spoken, however EN captions are available). Link in a comment below.

In defense the most-hated episode
