StreamDock Core Features Explained | Scene Shift, Folders, Page Navigation & More

Tutorial

Been seeing a lot of new users asking what the basic StreamDock functions actually do, so here’s a quick beginner guide to the core features and how people are using them in real setups.

If you just got your device, these are probably the first functions worth learning:

1. Create Folder

This lets you place multiple actions inside a folder to save space.

You can:

  • Organize apps/tools
  • Separate gaming & work profiles
  • Create nested folders

A lot of people use folders for:

  • OBS controls
  • Editing shortcuts
  • Game macros
  • Smart home controls

2. Scene Shift

Probably one of the most useful features.

You can instantly jump to:

  • another scene
  • another page
  • even another connected device

Example:
Press one key → switch your whole setup from “Work” to “Streaming”.

3. Previous Page / Next Page

Simple but important.

Lets you move between pages inside the same scene without needing folders everywhere.

Good for:

  • large macro collections
  • flight sim setups
  • editing workflows
  • MMO skill layouts

4. Go To Page

Unlike Previous/Next Page, this jumps directly to a specific page.

Useful when you want fixed navigation like:

  • Home
  • Audio
  • OBS
  • Gaming
  • Productivity

5. Page Indicator

Shows which page you’re currently on.

Small feature, but honestly really helpful once you start using multiple pages.

6. Brightness Control

You can increase or decrease device brightness directly from a key or knob.

This is nice if:

  • your setup changes between day/night
  • you stream in dark rooms
  • you use the device beside a monitor light

7. Device Sleep

Puts the device into sleep mode instantly.

The screen turns off until any key is pressed again.

Useful for:

  • saving screen life
  • reducing distractions
  • clean desk setups when idle

A few beginner tips:

  • Don’t try to build the “perfect” setup immediately
  • Start with the shortcuts you already use daily
  • Scenes + folders make a huge difference once your layout grows
  • Export your scenes regularly as backup
