IDR payment capped at 10 year standard repayment question

Advice

This is what the calculator is showing me as my current plan. Looking for a clear indoor what the highlighted portion means.

Income-Based Repayment (IBR) Plan
Ideal if you expect to continue to have a low income or have graduate school debt.
Monthly Payment
$1,723
Total To Be Paid
$80,981
End of Term Date
Mar 2030
End of Payment Balance
$98,058
Monthly Payment Limit
Payments are generally limited to 15% of your discretionary income and will never be more than the 10-year Standard Plan amount.

On the same calculator screen, this is what shows for the standard 10 year plan:

Standard Repayment Plan
Fixed monthly payments usually set at a 10-year repayment term, with longer terms possible for consolidation loans.
Monthly Payment
$987
Total To Be Paid
$323,755
End of Term Date
Aug 2053

This cannot mean that I can pay 987 monthly for the remaining 40 or so months on my journey to 120, right? The end of term date indicates a 25 year runway as opposed to a 10. So what’s up with that. My loan balance is 144k. All loans are direct consolidated. Approximately, 80 months into the 120. AGI 185, annual salary 205.

EdFinanacial is asking me to recertify income, and I want (obviously) the lowest payment that still keeps me eligible (work in state government). Huge difference between 987 and 1700. Recognizing these are estimates, but crowdsourcing guidance before I select a plan before July
