I vide coded a Ticktick gamification app
So I have been looking for a way to gamify my task and habit completion, just like with Habitica. I tried connecting TickTick to Habitica but it wasn't very easy.
I'm not an app developer, so after seeing some people vibe coding very easily with Claude, I decided to give it a try. And I am super satisfied with the result.
The app is stored on GitHub and deployed on Vercel, with a database using the free Upstash tier. All tasks give me one point by default, but I can customize extra points depending on criteria such as priority and tags. Habits give me just 0.5 points, but I can adjust that too.
I can add any custom reward I want. Rewards can be adjusted in cost and duration, and can be password-granting or not. Password for what? I have a whole system on my phone so I can only use social media and other apps using a password that the reward gives me.
The password remains visible for the duration set by the reward.
There's also a section to see which are the highest-value and most rewarding tasks in my TickTick. At the bottom, I can also see a timeline of the tasks I completed and the points I earned. It has a punishment system that resets my points if I don't complete any task or habit within 24 hours.
