AITAH to tell my friend he is turning into a male Miss Havisham

My friend (M55) had a 3 year long relationship at the end of his marriage. The marriage was a disaster zone from the beginning but, this woman was waiting to come on stage as soon as he moved out of the family home. So far so typical, except the new woman never left her much older husband, and they obviously continued to have some sort of relationship.

They broke up 4 years ago because … she didn’t want to leave her husband. Friend dated, said he was moving on and even had another 2 year relationship, which ended when she realised he was still in love with his ex, and felt like she was his consolation prize.

He is now back in contact with the first one who still has no intention of leaving he husband. My friend obviously is hoping they will get back together which I can’t see happening even if the husband dies, and I told him he was starting to look like Miss Havisham still wearing the dress for a wedding everyone else knew was never gonna happen.
