International HR or regular HR?

has anyone studied or worked in International HR (International Human Resources)? If yes, what is it like? Maybe choosing the international field is not such a good option, and I should choose regular Human Resources instead, which deals with employees within one country? Also, what are the advantages and disadvantages of each profession?
