BYD App with 3rd party sim in currently unsupported region

Hey there,

I'm a Atto 1 (Seagull) user in Sri Lanka. Currently we have JKCG (Local agent) whom selling and servicing BYD vehicles in Sri Lanka. At the moment the official BYD App is not functional in my country. The reason for this is the official sim in the car isn't activated for the country. But local community members manages to install 3rd party sims in the car and manages to get internet to work with the informtainmet system. But, even after that the app pair setup is still missing in the settings (No QR). We don't get OTA updates as well at the moment.

I guess this is due to car's VIN and sim's number, IMS or ICCID is tied together to make the app connection to be activated. Local community doesn't have a direct answer for this from the agent. They just throw random excuses.

So my question to anyone whom knowledgeable in this situation is that if we can install a 3rd party sim is there anyway to get the app to work? Can I directly send the sim info and car vin number to BYD via email to get this activated. Has anyone done that? My target is to get the app to work.
