Help with unusual behaviour regarding water bowl

Ive had a kitten for the last few months, oddly he loved water where i had to refill his bowl twice a day as it was empty but recently hes been making cover up motions around it and dropping it. His food and water are not next to eachother so im really clueless on whats up with him.
