Is there a general code between female neighbours?

I live on the main floor of a house with neighbours above and below. Friday night my downstairs neighbours were arguing. This makes me anxious as I’m never sure if and when to step in. The argument escalated and I sent the female a random text about laundry. Last night it was the upstairs neighbours. Is there a secret code between women to check on their safety when sharing a house?
